Sometimes it’s hard to believe just how much of the world is connected to businesses right here in Quincy!
Today, the Class of 2027 toured GatesAir with Michael Miller and got an inside look at the technology and equipment that make radio and television broadcasting possible around the world.
It’s nearly unbelievable to think that a company producing nearly half of the world’s broadcasting equipment is based right here in our community! Our students had the opportunity to see the equipment firsthand and learn more about the technology, manufacturing, and innovation behind an industry that reaches millions of people every single day.
One of the things I hope our students continue to recognize through these experiences is the incredible amount of opportunity that exists right here in Adams County. We have businesses operating on a global scale, developing sophisticated technology, and competing in industries most people never realize have such a significant presence in our community.
It’s also a great reminder that entrepreneurship isn’t always about creating something entirely new. Sometimes it’s about continuing to innovate, improve, and lead in an industry that has been around for generations.
A huge thank you to Michael and the GatesAir team for welcoming our class and giving us a look at an incredible business operating right here in Quincy!
