Since 1848, Knapheide Manufacturing has been part of the economic and industrial landscape of our region. Today, the Class of 2027 had the opportunity to step inside their Quincy operations and see firsthand what more than 175 years of business growth and innovation looks like!

From its early beginnings to becoming a nationally recognized manufacturer of work truck bodies and equipment, Knapheide is an incredible example of a business that continues to evolve, innovate, and adapt to the changing needs of its customers.

Our students got an inside look at the scale of Knapheide’s manufacturing operations and the processes, people, and technology involved in producing products used by businesses and industries across the country. It’s one thing to talk about manufacturing and business operations in the classroom. It’s another to see them happening firsthand.

For a class of young entrepreneurs, there is a lot to learn from a company that has successfully navigated generations of change while maintaining its roots right here in Adams County. Building a business is one challenge. Building one that continues to grow and serve customers for generations is something entirely different.

We didn’t take many pictures on the production floor, so you’ll have to schedule your own tour to see the incredible team, technology, and operations that make Knapheide what it is!

Thank you to the entire Knapheide team for welcoming the Class of 2027 and giving our students another opportunity to see the incredible businesses and career opportunities that exist right here in our community!
