A career rarely moves in a perfectly straight line, and today Sean Freeman from Tri-State Development gave the Class of 2027 a great example of why every stop along the way can shape where you ultimately end up.
Sean shared his path to where he is today, from roles in finance and higher education to even spending time in garbage collection. Those experiences, combined with his work leading the Tri-State Development Summit, gave our students a unique look at our local economy and how Adams County fits into the larger regional picture.
One of Seanβs biggest points was especially relevant for a room full of young entrepreneurs: their businesses contribute directly to our local economy. What they create, where they spend money, who they work with, and how their businesses grow all become part of something much bigger than themselves.
Sean also shared a fantastic video from Owlet that walked through the development of their product and connected it to the Business Model Canvas, a tool our students will begin utilizing over the next few weeks as they move deeper into developing their own business ideas.
