When we say Adams County CEO, we mean it! While our students come from all over the county, so do the businesses and communities we get to experience throughout the year.
Today, the Class of 2027 traveled to Liberty to visit Liberty Bank, where we were welcomed by Mark Field and Jeff Longlett, who also serves on our CEO Board. Mark led a great conversation about the importance of banking locally, the competitive nature of the banking industry, and the emerging threats facing community banks.
He also discussed cryptocurrency as it relates to investing, risk, and banking, along with the importance of developing a solid business plan and understanding the issues affecting small businesses. Mark shared what it takes to be a successful community banker and covered practical financial habits our students can put to work right now, including staying on top of their checking accounts and avoiding overdraft fees.
Jeff shared his perspective on the importance of relationships in community banking. His goal is to help people accomplish their goals by getting to know them and finding ways to serve them that larger banks may not be able to offer.
As our students prepare to begin strategic planning for their own class business, these conversations give them a broader understanding of the financial decisions, relationships, and challenges they will encounter as entrepreneurs.
Thank you, Mark, Jeff, and the Liberty Bank team for welcoming us and investing in the Class of 2027!
